SWAMPS HAVE BEEN STOPPED

State Rep. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) issued a statement in response to H2Ohio’s decision to pull the Cullen Park and Grassy Islands projects:
“I am pleased with H2Ohio’s decision to pull the current project for Cullen Park and Grassy Island. They listened to the public’s feedback and they rightly concluded that the plan was not properly designed to address the serious environmental issues,” said Rep. Sobecki. “I look forward to future conservation projects that are better designed to address the problem.”

This group recognizes that when the Cullen Park and Grassy Island Wetlands are first constructed they will not be swamps. Past experience convinces us they will become swamps over time.
